Let's Catch Up! News, news and more news.

It’s been a while! The first half of this year has been pretty chaotic, and I have needed some time to process and regroup. This has meant that the blog was placed on the backburner while I prioritised my mental health and running my business. These things happen to us all! The best thing we can do is be gentle with ourselves in these moments. Nevertheless, we’re back (albeit briefly) and I have some news to catch you up with to hopefully get back on track.

Metachrosis Magazine!

In March of this year, a piece from my final major project Visibilis was featured in a brand new publication which explores the relationship between art and science. The first issue of ‘Metachrosis’ was published online this spring and has since gained funding for a printed edition, which you can purchase here!

The Chritical Magazine: a new role, a publication and a promotion!

I began my new position as Contributing Photographer at the Chritical this January and have since provided the magazine with original images for use alongside articles, which accumulated in the annual printed edition of the magazine this spring! This was the second edition of the magazine which focused on ideas that matter and the new partnership with Migrant Women Press. Physical copies are now sold out but you can purchase a digital copy here!

Since the second issue was released, I have recently been promoted to Visual Lead at the magazine. This was never expected, but gratefully received, and I am so excited to continue with this team for the foreseeable!

Picture of the Week: Amateur Photographer Magazine

Last but most certainly not least, I was featured in a premium edition of Amateur Photographer magazine in their ‘Pic of the Week’ segment! I have read this magazine for over five years and it has been a massive aid in the development of my photographic skills, so having a small feature felt incredibly surreal and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity. The below image is part of my ongoing self portrait challenge, in which I shoot a new self portrait each month for the entire year!

These small wins have proven mighty amongst a turbulent few months and I am hoping for calming seas over the next half of the year. Despite it all, this is the busiest I have ever been in terms of my photography business and I am continuously grateful for the custom, especially during what is a difficult financial time for many; and I am looking forward to all this year has left to offer for my art, my business, and for the blog!
